H8S solution enables high-quality LCD displays for a wide range of cost-sensitive markets

Renesas Technology Europe has introduced what it says is the first 16-bit H8 microcontroller-based evaluation platform that demonstrates an LCD direct drive capability for supporting QVGA size TFT and STN LCD panels. Renesas Technology completes design of CPU core for next-generation microcontrollers

Renesas Technology Europe today announced that it has completed the design of an innovative new CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer) CPU architecture that will deliver what the company says is unmatched capabilities in code efficiency, processing performance, and power consumption for a future generation of Renesas’ CISC microcontrollers (MCUs). Ethernet microcontroller now supported by µC/OS-II Board Support Package

Renesas and its alliance partner Embedded Office have announced the immediate availability of a µC/OS-II Board Support Package (BSP) for the M3A-HS19G59 board. The board is based on the SH7619 device that features Ethernet MAC&PHY and a 160 DMIPS SH2 RISC CPU core, as well as many other peripherals. The device is comparable in cost to an Ethernet NIC with PHY and so offers the CPU and peripherals ‘for free’, in comparison.
