Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) connectors for 1000BASE-T1
Raydiall Automotive have been developing, together with their Japanese partner Yazaki, various automotive ethernet components, such as Single Pair Ethernet connectors, for the link segment (communication channel) section. Such components are cable assemblies (cable harness and connectors), PCB headers, in-line connectors and the standalone communication channel (SCC).
Tamper-resistant cable assemblies available
Amphenol RF has announced that it can now offer waterproof IP-rated and tamper-resistant cable assemblies designed using 1.13mm micro coax cable. These cable assemblies are available across three popular connector series – SMA, TNC and RP-TNC – and feature the ultraminiature AMC connector on one end.
NEC qualifies 24 fibre pair subsea telecom cable system
NEC and its subsidiary OCC have announced that they have completed full qualification of subsea repeaters and optical cable containing up to 24 fibre pairs (FPs) (48 fibres). This is a 50% improvement in fibre count over the 16 fibre pair systems generally available today. This development allows cable owners worldwide to construct subsea telecom cables with superior traffic capacity while reducing the cost per bit of the wet plant.
Microwave portfolio expanded with interconnect cables
Richardson Electronics has announced the availability of Junkosha’s MWX004 interconnect cables. Cables in the MWX004 series come with 1.0mm or 0.8mm connectors and include Junkosha’s patented ‘safety lock’ feature, which prevents bending and breakage of the center pin.
In-stock low PIM cable assemblies launched
PolyPhaser has introduced new low PIM cable assemblies that are in-stock and available for same-day shipping. Designed for multiple RF systems, PolyPhaser’s new low PIM cable assemblies provide a maximum PIM level of -165 dBc and operate at up to 6 GHz.
KN13C Series connector with two-point contact design
Hirose has launched a flexible printed circuit (FPC) to board connector that delivers significant space savings and ultra-reliability required by manufacturers of portable electronic equipment. The low-profile KN13C Series has a pitch of only 0.4mm, stacking height of 0.7mm, and width of 2.5mm. The KN13C enables OEMs to develop smaller devices without sacrificing reliability.
