Infineon silicon carbide power module for EVs
Silicon carbide in electric vehicles stands for more efficiency, higher power density and performance. Particularly with an 800V battery system and a large battery capacity, silicon carbide leads to a higher efficiency in inverters and thus enables longer ranges or lower battery costs.
Fast switching XP22x Series N-channel MOSFET from Torex
Torex Semiconductor has launched five new products of XP22x series (20 Withstand Voltage) for N-channel MOSEFET. The products which released this time are general-purpose MOSFET with low on resistance and high-speed switching.
Diodes launches AP61100Q low voltage auto buck converter
Diodes Incorporated has announced the AP61100Q, a 5.5V, one amp continuous output current, automotive-compliant, synchronous buck converter for point of load (POL) applications. With a fully integrated 110mΩ high-side power MOSFET and 80mΩ low-side power MOSFET, it provides high-efficiency step-down DC/DC conversion from five and 3.3V input rails.
Buck-boost chargers with 50% greater power density
Texas Instruments (TI) has introduced a small buck-boost charger integrated circuits, which integrate power-path management for maximum power density and universal and fast charging at up to 97% efficiency. The BQ25790 and BQ25792 support efficient charging and ten times lower quiescent current through USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (PD) ports in small personal electronics, portable medical devices and building automation applications.
CoolSiC 62mm module applications for silicon carbide
Infineon Technologies has added another industry standard package to its CoolSiC MOSFET 1,200V module family. The proven CoolSiC 62mm device has been designed in half-bridge topology and is based on the trench chip technology
Flex uses O-RAN to grow presence in RFPA market
In line with the world’s rapidly advancing 5G cellular wireless networks, Flex Power Modules is working closely with both OpenRAN, and O-RAN Alliance, a global community of more than 160 mobile operators, vendors, and research and academic institutions operating in the Radio Access Network (RAN) industry.
Is the MOSFET figure of merit (FoM) still relevant?
As gate drivers are now capable of efficiently meeting large Qg requirements and faster switching topologies create smaller, more efficient systems, some often ignored parameters have now become system-critical.
DC/DC converters meet space constraints with DFN packages
Mornsun’s 4th generation of R4 Series DC/DC converters are now available from Relec Electronics in ultra-miniature DFN packages, measuring just 9.0x7.0x3.1mm.
