1W DC/DC converters for cost sensitive applications
RECOM has offered the RFB, RFM and RFMM commodity DC/DC converters for cost sensitive applications at low prices. Efficient manufacturing facilities combined with high volume production enable RECOM to continuously reduce cost while making no compromise on quality, and therefore directly transferring the cost advantage to the customer. RECOM now offers 5VDC to 5VDC isolated converters at the lowest cost on the market.
Power supply units range from 120W to 960W for 2 and 3-phase operation
RECOM takes another step in expanding its power solutions portfolio for industrial applications with a power range from 0.25W to 1000W by introducing 2 and 3-phase AC/DC DIN-Rail PSUs. As the central power supply unit, the REDIN/3AC series are designed for extraordinary stability in harsh automation environments and will still continue to operate reliably from mains voltages of 320 up to 575VAC even when one phase fails.
Evaluation board extends lifetime of SensiBLE module
RECOM has released a breakout board to connect SensiEDGE’s SensiBLE v1.0 sensor module to RECOM’s R-78S evaluation board. This technology enables the SensiBLE to draw a stable 3.3V from a AA battery down to voltages as low as 0.65V. Engineers can therefore replace the coin-cell battery with a higher-capacity single-cell AA battery and significantly increase operation lifetime on a single battery.
Output voltage extension for 3 and 4W AC/DC converters
In order to design energy efficient devices, you must both comply with the latest energy saving directives and the needs of energy sensible systems. Sensor-rich modern IoT will benefit from using energy efficient AC/DC power supplies of RECOM’s RAC series. To cover more power-critical IoT and Smart Home systems, RECOM now offers its low-power 3W and 4W RAC-series with additional output voltages.
Evaluation board extends battery lifetime in IoT applications
Thanks to the new evaluation board from RECOM, engineers can effortlessly test the functionality of the R-78S switching regulator, which boosts a AA battery or external supply voltage to 3.3V for low power IoT applications. The evaluation board is equipped with several jumper headers measuring input and output current and voltage - allowing typical battery lifetime calculations in both active and standby mode.
AC/DC converters fit into flush mount wall installations
Developed for household, medical and ITE applications, which are in need of ruggedised, fully certified AC/DC modules for off board installations, RECOM has announced its RACM18/W and RACM30/W AC/DC converters. The robust electronic circuitry and IP68 waterproof encapsulation withstand harsh operating conditions and make them highly reliable.
Half-bridge reference design enables rapid prototyping
A universal half-bridge reference design has been announced by RECOM. It is a platform design that can be used to compare the real life performance of various high power IGBT, 1st/2nd generation SiC, GaN, MOSFET and Cascode switching technologies. As the gate driver and PCB layout is the same for every transistor type, users will be able to compare and contrast their real life switching performance and make informed choices about the right techno...
18W and 30W AC/DCs for medical applications
RECOMs RACM18 and RACM30 AC/DC converters were developed for medical PCB designs, which are in need of full certifications and energy efficient AC/DC modules. For that reason they are certified to the latest IEC/EN60601 medical standards, as well as the EN60335 household and the IEC/EN60950 ITE standards. The robust electronic circuitry and IP68 waterproof encapsulation withstands harsh operating conditions and makes them highly reliable.
10W AC/DC converters suitable for IoT systems
In order to meet the latest requirements of IoT systems, RECOM has developed a low cost 10W AC/DC converter series in an industry standard 2x1" package. According to the company, the excellent efficiency over a wide load range makes them suitable for energy saving solutions in IoT applications and also guarantees a stable output voltage. For worldwide compatibility they offer a wide input voltage range from 85-305VAC.
Low power AC/DCs in IoT applications
Looking behind the hype of the IoT, Steve Roberts, technical director, Recom Power, looks at what the increased input and always-on connectivity will mean for power consumption
Railway DC/DC converters feature ultra wide input range
When planning a universally applicable railway device typically at least three versions of the same design are necessary to cover all standard supply voltages in railway vehicles ranging from a nominal 24-110VDC. This causes additional complications, which can be avoided by using RECOM’s newly developed DC/DC railway converters with ultra-wide input voltage, which allow for all-in-one solutions.
High power density DC/DC converter certified to IEC/EN62368-1
DC/DC and AC/DC converter company, RECOM, has released its new RKZ3 DC/DC converter series, a pin-compatible upgrade to its existing 2W SIP7 converters, providing 50% extra power density in the same footprint.
DC/DC converter provides cost efficient solution for PoE applications
RECOM has extended its portfolio with a 50W DC/DC converter with reliability and efficiency. Fully automated manufacturing results in a cost efficient solution for PoE and industrial applications. The RPA50S-W is a low cost 50W DC/DC converter in industry standard 1/16th brick format and pinning (33x23mm).
5W AC/DC converter comes in 1″ x 1″ case
IoT systems typically consist of a large number of sensors, actuators and data nodes which are then linked to make an intelligent, reactive and smart infrastructure. Many of these sensor and radio communication modules need to be working 24/7 and therefore there is a need for efficient, compact, reliable and economic AC/DC supplies. For exactly these reasons, RECOM has developed a low cost 5W AC/DC converter in a tiny 1″ x 1″ package,...
3W and 4W AC/DC converters support smart home and IoT
Modern smart homes, as well as IoT systems require a high number of low power nodes, actuators and sensors to process information intelligently. To efficiently power these applications, RECOM has extended its low power RAC-series with new 3W and 4W converters with EN60335 household certification. These new low cost additions to the RAC family represent a value for money proposition, which is unique in the marketplace.
