In order to meet the latest requirements of IoT systems, RECOM has developed a low cost 10W AC/DC converter series in an industry standard 2x1" package. According to the company, the excellent efficiency over a wide load range makes them suitable for energy saving solutions in IoT applications and also guarantees a stable output voltage. For worldwide compatibility they offer a wide input voltage range from 85-305VAC.

IoT systems are equipped with many different sensors exchanging data in real time to enable efficient communication in a smart infrastructure. Most of the sensor nodes in an IoT system operate at least part of the time in a standby state. Therefore, having AC/DC supplies on hand which offer low power consumption across a wide load range is key to energy efficiency. The 10W RAC10-K/277 converter series are highly efficient PCB-mount power conversion modules with ultra-low energy losses even in light load conditions.

This makes them a benchmark for always-on and standby mode operations in IoT and smart building applications. For example, the RAC10-K/277 supplies 300mW to power housekeeping circuits of higher power applications in standby mode while drawing less than 500mW from mains – allowing the higher power application to meet critical ErP standby power regulations. Designed for IoT and household applications, they come with international safety certifications for both industrial and household standards.

Due to their extended wide input voltage range from 85-305VAC they can be used worldwide. The RAC10-K/277 AC/DC modules provide 100% nominal output power in a temperature range of -40 to 65°C and offer fully protected single or dual outputs as well as EMC class B compliance without the need of any external components.

The 140% peak power capability makes them suitable for high startup currents or nonlinear loads in process automation. They are CE-marked and come with a three year warranty.
