The release of three new highly-efficient mid-voltage PWM buck converters has been announced by ON Semiconductor. Supporting a wide input voltage range of 4.5-65V, an output current of up to 10A and output power of 100W, ON Semiconductor’s new FAN6500X family of buck converters combines the time tested fixed frequency control scheme with flexible Type III compensation and robust fault protection.

ON Semiconductor has announced its acquisition of SensL Technologies Ltd. ("SensL"). The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to ON Semiconductor's non-GAAP earnings per share. SensL, based in Ireland, is a technology leader specialising in Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM), Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) and LiDAR sensing products for automotive, medical, industrial and consumer markets.

ON Semiconductor has introduced the first CMOS image sensors to feature its Near Infra-Red+ (NIR+) technology, which effectively combines High Dynamic Range (HDR) with enhanced low light performance to enable high-end security and surveillance cameras. The AR0522 is a 1/2.5-inch 5.1 Megapixel (MP) image sensor based on a 2.2 micrometer (μm) Back Side Illuminated (BSI) pixel technology platform, developed for industrial applications that require high resolution, high quality video capture in low light conditions.

ON Semiconductor has announced its X-Class image sensor platform, which allows a single camera design to support not only multiple product resolutions but also different pixel functionality. The first devices in the new platform are the 12 MP XGS 12000 and 4k / UHD resolution XGS 8000 image sensors, which provide high-performance imaging capabilities for applications such as machine vision, intelligent transportation systems, and broadcast imaging.

A new solution has been introduced by ON Semiconductor for high-density power adapters for notebooks, tablets, and other portable devices that require compatibility with the USB Power Delivery (USB PD) or Qualcomm Quick Charge specifications. The solution, which includes multiple patents pending, comprises the NCP1568 active clamp flyback (ACF) controller and a corresponding high-speed, half-bridge driver – the NCP51530.

ON Semiconductor is extending capabilities for critical high resolution industrial imaging with the introduction of a new 43 MegaPixel (MP) resolution, Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) image sensor in the convenient 35mm optical format. The KAI-43140 is suitable for use in applications where both very high resolution image capture and image uniformity is required, such as end of line inspection of High Definition (HD) and Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) flat panel displays and aerial photography.
