Distributor Mouser Electronics is now stocking the UNO R4 microcontroller board from Arduino.

The UNO R4 is powered by the Renesas RA4M1 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 processor, featuring a clock speed of 48 MHz for higher processing power.

To accommodate more complex projects, the UNO R4 includes 32 kB of SRAM and 256 kB of flash memory.

Plus, the microcontroller core features a Floating Point Unit (FPU), bringing a considerable performance boost for specific applications.

The UNO R4 microcontroller board offers an exceptional prototyping and embedded platform for a wide range of applications, including industrial automation, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, robotics, weather monitoring, smart agriculture, and artificial intelligence (AI).

The board is offered in two variants, the basic UNO R4 Minima and the comprehensive UNO R4 WiFi, to meet the budgetary and creative needs of the user.

For users seeking a boost in processing power without the additional features, the UNO R4 Minima provides a cost-effective option. The UNO R4 WiFi includes an Espressif S3 Wi-Fi module for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity.

It also features a bright 12x8 red LED matrix, ideal for plotting sensor data without the need for additional display hardware.

With a wide variety of compatible modules that can be connected via the Qwiic I2C connector, combined with the large ecosystem of shields for UNO already in the market, the UNO R4 WiFi provides an unprecedented plug-and-play experience that allows the creation of projects without soldering, breadboards, or manual wiring.

For more advanced users, there are also additional pins to turn off the microcontroller while keeping the RTC powered by an external buffer battery.

The UNO R4 features increased processing power and memory to support complex tasks and calculations, while the board’s 5 V operating voltage enables easy integration with existing projects and components.

It maintains the same form factor as the UNO R3, ensuring compatibility with existing shields and accessories.

Software scalability is also supported on the UNO R4, allowing easy upgrades for projects made with UNO R3 or Leonardo.
