NXP Semiconductors’ i.MX 93W applications processor has been shortlisted for the Electronics Excellence Awards under the Semiconductor category.
The NXP i.MX 93W applications processor is the industry’s first applications processor to combine Edge AI acceleration with secure tri-radio wireless connectivity in a single package. By integrating processing, an AI neural processing unit (NPU), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy, 802.15.4 connectivity, and advanced security, the i.MX 93W simplifies the development of intelligent, connected devices.
A key innovation is its highly integrated architecture, which can replace more than 60 discrete components typically required for wireless edge AI designs, reducing board space, design complexity, certification effort, and overall system cost. Pre-certified reference designs further help developers accelerate time-to-market while lowering development risk.
Designed for Physical AI applications, the i.MX 93W enables intelligent devices to process data locally, make real time decisions and communicate securely. Target applications include industrial automation, smart buildings, healthcare devices, energy infrastructure, IoT gateways, and smart home systems.
By bringing Edge compute, AI acceleration, security, and wireless connectivity together in a single platform, the i.MX 93W enables developers to build smarter products faster, more efficiently, and with greater reliability.
