Senet selects LoRa for IoT network

Semtech and Senet have announced the deployment of Senet’s nationwide LoRaWAN  network, based on Semtech LoRa technology, for IoT applications. Senet has completed the deployment of 50 towers with network coverage of more than 15,000 square miles. Three towers are in Silicon Valley to enable application development by major corporations and start-ups in the area that plan to connect to their network.

HD video systems monitor trains in Japan

Semtech and Ikegami Tsushinki have announced a partnership to drive high-performance video monitoring systems that deliver the highest quality HD images over longer distances than existing digital video transmission systems. In collaboration with the Central Japan Railway, Ikegami equipped the JR Tokai Shinkansen line station platforms with HD vertical monitoring systems to improve customer safety and peace of mind.

LDO regulator suits small form factor consumer applications

Providing two regulated outputs for up to 300mA for each output channel, a dual output LDO regulator has been introduced by Semtech. The SC563 accepts an input supply rail of 2.3 to 5.5V and provides two fixed, regulated outputs, which eliminate the need for external resistor divider networks.

TVS array device protects two high speed data lines at once

Semtech has announced the RClamp 0552T, a high performance, low capacitance Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) array device. The RClamp0552T is offered as a three-pin device and protects high speed differential pairs common in interfaces such as USB 3.0, MHL and HDMI 1.4.

Load switch features 32mΩ on-state resistance

Semtech has announced the SC33020H Load Switch platform in a 0.9mm2, four-bump Chip Scale Package (CSP) with R(ON) of 32mΩ. The SC33020H load switch provides power rail control for up to 2A with reverse current blocking protection for both portable and non-portable devices, including wearables, action video cameras, smart phones, tablets, HDTVs and STBs.

Semtech has announced a 33V, high-performance TVS device designed to protect small form factor proximity sensors from ESD, EFT and low level surge transients. The single-line uClamp3601P achieves a remarkably low ESD clamping voltage - critical in safeguarding proximity sensors in harsh and noisy industrial environments - in a small 1.0x0.6mm footprint.

TVS device protects USB interfaces on portable devices

A high-performance, low capacitance TVS device, which replaces multiple discrete components while providing complete VBUS surge and ESD protection for USB data and ID lines, has been released by Semtech. Measuring 2.0x1.8mm, the RClamp1255P has a capacitance of less than 0.5pF on D+, D- and ID pins.

Load switch provides 36mΩ in 0.76x0.76mm package

Offering a 2A, 1.1-3.6V power rail with controlled turn-on and -off profiles, the SC724, SC725, SC728 and SC729 load switches have been introduced by Semtech. The SC72X family is suitable for portable applications, including wearable electronics, portable video cameras, smartphones and tablets, as well as non-portable applications such as HDTVs, set-top boxes and networking devices.

TVS device replaces six discretes for USB 3.0 protection

To protect the USB 3.0 interface in computing and mobile devices from ESD events, Semtech has introduced a high-performance, ultra-low capacitance TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) device. In an easy-to-lay-out package, the RClamp3346P provides ultra-low clamping voltage performance and a low dynamic resistance of 0.15Ω typical.
