Oscilloscopes take pride of place at PCIM 2018

Signal generation and analysis solutions boost 5G NR

Two dedicated options for generating and analysing 5G NR signals to test base stations, UE and 5G components such as power amplifier have been released by Rohde & Schwarz. The R&S SMW-K144 5G NR signal generation option will enable users to generate signals for 5G NR downlink and uplink in line with 3GPP Release 15, specifically the 3GPP TS 38.211, 38.212, 38.213 and 38.214 specifications for the NR physical layer and transport layer.

3GPP Release 14 location services test solution demoed at MWC

Verification of 3GPP Release 14 location services (LCS), which is one of the new positioning technologies for NarrowBand-IoT (NB-IoT) has been announced by Rohde & Schwarz and CommSolid. The Cat-NB2 verification was performed with CommSolid’s NB-IoT modem solution against the R&S CMW500 mobile communication tester.

Power sensor lined up for MWC 2018 debut

eCall modules test met with software solution

From April 1, 2018 onward, all newly registered cars and light trucks in the European Union must be equipped with the eCall automatic emergency system. Tester emulates all IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards

The R&S CMW270 wireless connectivity tester emulates all IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards, including 802.11ax. In signalling mode, users can test the RF properties of WLAN stations under real-world conditions. Before now, the RF properties of WLAN stations (STA) were mainly tested in an artificial remote control operation, the non-signalling mode.

Firmware enables 3GPP 5G New Radio signals tests

A firmware option for 5G New Radio (NR) downlink signal analysis has been announced by Rohde & Schwarz. The firmware option for the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyser enables verification of signals for base stations, as well as component testing of 5G power amplifiers.
