Geeplus voice coil actuator copes with movement

The VMXY80 voice coil actuator from Geeplus, specifically engineered for the steering of optical beams, is optimally suited for data transmission across tall buildings or other structures vulnerable to movement. It offers rotational deflection around two axes.

Rotary solenoid provides savings of up to 50%

Responding to market demands for miniature components with prices to match, Geeplus have altered the manufacturing process its 12mm bistable rotary solenoid in order to provide savings of up to 50% for volume applications.

Cable tidy controls length of cables without pulling

A cable tidy, suitable for devices with connectors small enough to pass through a 22mm hole, has been introduced by Geeplus. The CT1‐22 features a cable ‘bobble’, which allows the user to control the length of cables without excessive pulling. Cables can, therefore, be ‘tidily’ kept out of the way when not in use.

Solenoid offers double the stroke of a standard solenoid

A solenoid which offers double the useful stroke of a standard solenoid has been developed by Geeplus. To produce a solenoid which develops useful force over a long stroke with a flat force characteristic, the company used it’s tubular solenoid design to modify the geometry of the Super Stroke Solenoid’s pole‐piece and magnetic return path.

Save Development Time with the new Pick and Hold Module from Geeplus

Geeplus has today announced a new ‘pick and hold’ circuit module. This new ‘pick and hold’ module is capable of determining the appropriate supply voltage, device, and current parameters for many applications. It is particularly suited for designs where solenoid devices are used.

Miniature Push/Pull solenoids from Geeplus offer High force using Low power

Ideally suited to remote or renewable energy applications where rechargeable or standard batteries or capacitors are used, the new Geeplus range of small Push-Pull solenoids provides a robust solution for a number of applications requiring a significant holding force using minimal power.

Geeplus adds flexible circuits to three more of their Voice Control Motors

Due to the successful introduction of a flexible circuit and cover on their VM2836 and VM5050 voice coil motor, Geeplus has now extended these same benefits to three other models. Now available on their 33, 40 and 80mm models, the newly added circuits provide a simple and reliable electrical connection, which in turn has a consistent influence on force behaviour. Termination can be specified by the customer as either a flexible tail or a connect...

Re-engineered rotary solenoid provides price reduction

Unlike many miniaturised components where a smaller size invariably means a higher price, a new 12mm bistable rotary solenoid from Geeplus, the BRS1212, has benefitted from re-engineering which has resulted in reduced costs of up to 50% for volumes of 5k upwards. The device also incorporates the added facility of an end stop.

Electro-Magnets resist damage

Geeplus have changed the surface treatment of their electro-magnet range in order to optimise their operation when used in areas of heavy traffic such as hospital corridors. The new surface treatment, which can also be applied to custom parts, provides the magnets with an extremely hard surface which is resistant to accidental damage.

Geeplus actuator provides highly accurate repeatability without high cost

Providing an economic way of positioning of small, low mass, optical elements for focussing or beam deflection mechanisms, where repeatability is critical, but the small deflection from the axis is not, a new, compact actuator from Geeplus combines a voice coil motor and steel flexures to guide the coil assembly for frictionless operation.

Small standard voice coil motor from Geeplus uses new materials for better power and more stability

Measuring just 16mm in diameter, 14mm in length and developing 0.55N of force, Geeplus International have launched what they claim to be the world’s smallest standard Voice Coil Motor. Reduction in size often means a reduction in internal component dimensions which can lead to operational faults, but the VCM1614 benefits from a Geeplus designed bearing which not only keeps dimensions down, but also provides better and more reliable guidance of ...

Electro-magnets overcome the problems of residual magnetism

A new range of electro-magnets from Geeplus have been designed with ejector pins to enable them to overcome the problems of residual magnetism occurring when power to the device is switched off. Residual magnetism is common in electro-magnetic devices due to unavoidable very small air gaps which occur within the unit. Saturation tends to occur in the pole regions causing some residual field to remain when power is removed.

Flat voice coil motor has very low profile

A new very low profile flat voice coil motor from Geeplus Europe is designed in such a way that it offers good clearance in assembly and has latitude for tilting on one axis. It is ideally suited for use in multiple axis applications, such as moving optical filters.
