Choosing the right touchscreen

P-CAP touchscreens available with custom specifications

Distec has announced that it offers touch screen displays with custom designed Projected CAPacitive (P-CAP) touchscreen technology. Distec also optically bonds the touchscreen to a TFT display in one unit. The modern VacuBond optical bonding technology improves sunlight readability and prevents fogging by moisture ingress.

POS monitors are smoke & fire optimised

Distec has presented a smoke and fire load optimised version of its successful POS-Line monitor series. An independent reviewer tested these monitors to DIN EN 13501-1 for fire classification of construction products and building elements according to Class B S1 d0. The certificate is valid for a special solution of POS-Line series, with an integrated PC based on the AMD processor Ontario and with an SSD hard drive.

Controller board targets eDP TFT displays

An autonomous TFT controller board has been introduced by Distec. Featuring a HDMI and a DisplayPort input, the PrismaECO-eDP controls TFT displays via a dual-lane eDP interface. The device, which supports a resolution of WSXGA to WUXGA (1600x900 to 1920x1200), can control the brightness of the display backlight via PWM or analogue voltage or an optional ambient light sensor.

LCD monitors ensure a secure fit in 19" racks

Featuring two solid handles facilitating safe installation, Distec has introduced LCD monitors optimised for use in industrial 19" racks. A 3mm thick steel front plate with a height of 5-9U ensures a secure fit in the rack. Available with TFT-displays in 10.4, 15, 17.3 and 19" (26.41-48.3cm), the monitors can be supplied with a video card with VGA/DVI or with an integrated PC.

Optical bonding improves display readability

Believed to be the world's most advanced optical bonding technology, Distec uses the VacuBond high performance silicone optoGel. The manufacturing equipment is capable of directly bonding TFT displays in custom bezels and front housings with integrated protective glass. Moreover, the VacuBond process is reversible: individual components can be recovered, simplifying repairs and reducing repair costs.
