Aeroflex has further enhanced its comprehensive support for CDG Stage II interoperability and CDG Stage I signalling conformance testing with the early availability of a test suite for the C.S0044-A specification.
The C.S0044-A specification is a revision of the previous C.S0044-0 standard and focuses on EV-DO operation typical of a deployed multi-revision EV-DO Rel 0 / Rev A network. It includes tests for basic scenarios such as EV-DO functionality like HRPD session and connection setup for Rev A and system re-selection as well as features unique to the C.S0044-A specification including test case support for Multi-personality, Hybrid tests and specific EV-DO Rev A features.

Multi-personality support includes test cases for Inter RNC and Inter Revision Handoff functionality. Hybrid test scenarios include 1x features like Mobile Originated and Mobile Terminated voice and SMS calls with active, idle and dormant EV-DO calls. Furthermore, there are test cases for additional EV-DO Rev A features such as multi-user packets, the subtype 3 RTCMAC protocol and Enhanced Idle State protocol.

“With the early availability of a C.S0044-A test suite, Aeroflex has fulfilled another critical customer requirement when needed most,” said Mike Thorpe, CDMA Product Manager, Aeroflex Test Solutions, Wireless Division. “The C.S0044-A test suite further enhances the CDG Stage II interoperability test coverage available on the Aeroflex CDMA-AIME network emulation platform. These tests are an important complement to the comprehensive CDG Stage I signalling conformance coverage offered on the same CDMA-AIME platform.”

The C.S0044-A test suite is available for immediate delivery as a software-only upgrade to Aeroflex’s highly configurable CDMA AIME network emulation platform.
