Rohde & Schwarz FSC Spectrum Analysers have been selected by Sat-Comm as the default offering in their mid range and high end Satellite News Gathering (SNG) vehicles. The move also formalises Sat-Comm’s status as a formal Value Added Partner of Rohde & Schwarz UK. Sat-Comm, a UK-based systems integration specialist focused on SNG vehicle installations and Fly Aways – units that enable 24/7 transmission services from the field.
Explaining the company’s decision, Tim Williams, Managing Director of Sat-Comm said: “We deliver SNG vehicles to over 50 countries in five continents and when these systems are deployed in the field to distribute content, reliability is absolutely key. Rohde & Schwarz FSC Spectrum Analysers are installed in our mid and high end vehicles in order to monitor the transmissions. These instruments offer us the performance and the reliability we look for to further endorse the Sat-Comm brand.”

Steve Edwards, Sales Manager of Rohde & Schwarz UK commented: “We are delighted to formalise our long standing partnership with Sat-Comm. It is especially rewarding because we had this application in mind when we designed the new FSC.” The FSC Spectrum Analyser has a small footprint, with no requirement for cooling fans thanks to its very reliable, low power design. “This instrument’s low power consumption also means that it can be powered from either 18v DC or mains supplies, making it ideal for a mobile application such as this,” added Edwards.

Sat-Comm has a complete range of satellite uplink solutions, from compact, fully redundant SNG Fly Away systems, to Outside Broadcast vehicles with satellite capabilities. The range also covers terrestrial microwave vehicles and mobile GSM base-stations, communications technologies for which Rohde & Schwarz supplies a full range of test and measurement equipment.
