Op amp delivers stable offset voltage drift
Eliminating the requirement for system level calibration, the OPA192 is an operational amplifier (op amp) which realises stable offset voltage drift over the full specified temperature range of -40 to +125°C. Texas Instruments claim that their OPA192 is the industry’s first 36V rail-to-rail input and output op amp to achieve precision offset voltage and drift without using auto-zero techniques.
AC/DC adapters fullfil demands of “patient contact” applications
Extending their low wattage series, the GSM18/25/36 (18/25/36W) series has been introduced by Meanwell. Delivering ≦50 μA low leakage, <0.1W no load power consumption and 88% high efficiency, the AC/DC adapters comply with 2*MOPP level international medical safety regulations.
AC/DC converter IC features integrated PFC control
Integrating Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Quasi-Resonant (QR) controllers into a single package, the BM1C001F is a high-efficiency AC/DC converter from ROHM Semiconductor. Suitable for 100W-class equipment such as TVs and industrial power supplies, ROHM claims that the converter IC is the first to incorporate an ON/OFF setting function and new PFC output control method within the PFC controller.
DC-DC converter modules with isolation voltage of 5200Vdc
Luso Electronics Distribution has availability of a range of 1W and 2W single-output DC-DC converter modules from CTC that offer DC outputs ranging from 3.3 to 15V, operation over a wide temperature range and power efficiencies of up 80%. Devices in the new P (1W) and P2 (2W) series offer input voltages of 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24V (plus 3.3V for the P2 series) and output voltages of 3.3, 5, 9, 12 and 15V.
Isolated DC/DC converters deliver 88% efficiency
Designed for applications which require Vin ranges of 9-36V or 18-75V at 15W, the SPM series of low power isolated DC-DC modules are now available from Murata. Available in an industry standard footprint, the modules incorporate the latest PWM technologies, automated assembly processes and synchronous rectification techniques to achieve one of the industry's highest energy efficiency ratings of 88%.
DC/DC controller dramatically reduces switching jitter
Using a DC Resistance (DCR) sensing architecture that enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of the current sense signal, the LTC3875 enables the use of very low DCR power inductors. The dual output current-mode synchronous step-down DC/DC controller from Linear Technology operates over an input voltage range of 4.5-38V and produces a fixed output voltage from 0.6-3.5V with ±0.5% accuracy.
Coverters increase efficiency across entire load curve
Two isolated DC/DC converter familes, designated the PQMC3-S and PQM3-M Series, have been announced by CUI. The converters increase total efficiency across the entire load curve and deliver improved performance at light and no loads. The coverters have been designed for battery-powered applications where power draw under these conditions are a concern.
Controller delivers 1% output accuracy & simplifies designs
Supporting POL supplies up to 35A, the XRP6141 Synchronous Step Down Controller signals an expansion of Exar's line of DC-DC power conversion products. The controller is designed to achieve excellent transient response and output accuracy using the company's proprietary emulated current mode COT control loop.
Transformers target smart metering & reduce footprint by 30%
Targeting smart metering applications, the MID-MHC series of flyback transformers has been announced by Wurth Electronics. The transformer series supports creepage and clearance distances up to 14mm, as well as multiple isolated outputs.
AC/DC adapter interface IC can reach efficiency up to 88%
