XP Power introduces the QAM60T and HBM150C series of medical DC/DC converters, delivering 60W and 150W respectively in compact, industry-standard brick packages. Designed for BF- and CF-rated medical equipment, the new converters provide reliable, space-efficient power conversion for increasingly compact and power-demanding applications including patient monitoring, medical imaging and diagnostics, patient treatment equipment, and surgical systems and robotics.
Both series carry global medical safety approvals and meet IEC60601-1 requirements with 2 x MOPP and 5kVAC input-to-output isolation, helping simplify regulatory compliance and integration into patient-connected medical equipment. Ultra-low patient leakage current helps integration into patient-connected equipment, while high efficiency minimises power losses and heat generation. Baseplate cooling simplifies thermal management, reduces cooling requirements, and supports reliable operation in compact equipment. With external components, the converters meet Class A conducted and radiated emissions requirements under EN 55032 / EN 55011. Remote On/Off, remote sense and output voltage trim provide additional system flexibility, while overvoltage, overtemperature, and short-circuit protection help safeguard the converter and end application.
For space-constrained equipment requiring flexibility across different DC supply architectures, the 60W QAM60T combines a wide 4:1 input range of 9 to 36V DC with a compact quarter-brick format. The series offers single outputs of 5V DC, 12V DC, 15V DC and 24V DC, as well as ±12V DC and ±15V DC dual-output models. Patient leakage current of 4.5µA makes the QAM60T particularly well suited to CF-rated patient-connected medical equipment. Efficiency of up to 93.5% helps minimise power losses and heat generation, while operation from -40 to +105°C supports use in demanding thermal environments.
For applications with higher power requirements, the 150W HBM150C combines a 2:1 input range of 18 to 36V DC with single 12V DC, 15V DC and 24V DC outputs in an industry-standard half-brick format. Patient leakage current remains below 10µA, enabling designers to bring increased power capability to CF-rated patient-connected equipment. With efficiency up to 91.5% and operation from -40 to +100°C, the HBM150C provides a compact and thermally efficient solution for demanding medical systems.
The QAM60T and HBM150C are also suitable for industrial robotics, process control, telecommunications, distributed power architectures, and battery-powered equipment where compact size, high isolation, and reliable thermal performance are required.
