Maxim has introduced the MAX4806/MAX4807/MAX4808 dual, high-voltage digital pulsers. These devices enable unipolar or bipolar pulsing in high-voltage systems, and are guaranteed to provide 2.0A (min) of output drive current. Designed for high-performance applications, each pulser includes three logic inputs per channel and two independent enable inputs. This feature set delivers faster ramp times and smaller delays between pulsing modes by ensuring that the MOSFETs are not accidentally turned on during fast power-supply ramping.
The pulsers also employ active-clamp circuitry to select the number of signals to drive the device and reduce the 2nd-harmonic output, thereby improving pulse quality. The MAX4806/MAX4807/MAX4808 dual pulsers are ideal for portable ultrasound imaging, industrial sensors, and nondestructive-testing (NDT)/flaw-detection applications.

The MAX4806/MAX4807/MAX4808 operate from a single supply up to 200V or from dual ±110V supplies. The devices are specified to operate over the 0 degrees Celsius to +70 degrees Celsius commercial temperature range. The MAX4806 has overvoltage protection on its clamp outputs, while the MAX4807 offers overvoltage protection on its pulser outputs and clamp outputs.
