POL regulators feature an efficiency of over 96%

POL regulators which regulate direct POL from a 48V input have been introduced by Vicor. Expanding the company’s Picor Cool-Power POL regulator portfolio, the PI3542, PI3543, PI3545, and PI3546 buck regulators feature a Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS) topology that provides an efficiency over 96%.

DC/DC bus converter module is 9mm thin & thermally adept

AC/DC front-end module offers high power density

Achieving a power density of 8W/cm³ (127W/in³), Vicor has introduced its high density, low profile, integrated VIA PFM AC/DC front-end power modules. VIA PFM AC/DC front-end converter modules supply an isolated, PFC regulated 24 or 48V SELV DC output at up to 400W from the universal input range of 85 to 264VAC with 93% peak efficiency.

POL regulators offer efficiencies over 98%

Vicor has announced the expansion of its Picor Cool-Power ZVS Point of Load (POL) Regulator portfolio with the introduction of its high efficiency PI3749, PI3751, and PI3755 buck-boost regulators. By minimising switching losses, Picor’s ZVS topology enables efficiencies over 98%, maintaining a high efficiency over the specified VIN range.

DC/DC converters target aerospace & EV/HEV applications

Vicor has expanded its DCM series of isolated, regulated DC/DC converters within its ChiP power component platform. The series now covers critical applications in aerospace, EV/HEV, rugged systems, industrial and telecomms/datacomms. The devices provide nominal input voltages of 24, 28, 48, 270, 290 and 300V with nominal outputs of 48, 36, 28, 24, 15, 12 and 5V and are available in packages with up to 600W of power.

DC/DC Bricks harness more power in less space

A series of DC/DC bricks retaining the fundamental design attributes of conventional bricks, but providing up to 51% greater power density, has been launched by Vicor. The HD Brick Series, the company claims, enable system designers to harness more power in less space than with competing brick-based products and Vicor’s earlier generation Maxi, Mini and Micro DC-to-DC converters.

According to the company, they delivering up to 2X the power density of conventional DC/DC converters, for parallel operation (up to eight units) that provides 1200Win³ at 93% efficiency.

Vicor have revealed the expansion of its ultra high density Picor Cool-Power PI31xx series of isolated, ZVS-based DC-DC converters optimized for 24 V industrial, 28 V aerospace/defence and/or demanding wide temperature applications.
