Automotive surface mount varistors operate up to +150°C

Stackpole has announced its AVY series of automotive surface mount varistors that operate at temperatures up to +150°C. This higher operating temperature allows their use in a wider range of environments compared to most varistors that can only operate at temperatures up to +125°C. The AVY series is rated for up to 2,000A of current and 25J load dump energy.

SM series for high energy surface mount resistor applications

The SM Series wirewound resistor offers a robust surface mount device capable of handling up to 4W in a single part. The SM8035 case size can handle over 50J of energy while the SM2615 size can withstand more than 5 times the energy of a comparable size pulse withstanding flat chip resistor. A single SM is an ideal solution for applications that demand high continuous power with low heat rise.

4W wirewound resistors provide good surge handling

Designed for applications requiring good surge handling and fusibility to prevent significant heat generation or fire, the SP3A series has been announced by Stackpole Electronics. The axial leaded 4W wirewound resistors can survive hundreds of 3kV surges of less than 50µs without failing or significantly shifting resistance. They will also fuse quickly and without flame or significant heat when subjected to continuous overloads of 120VAC or...

Current sense chip device offers 5-40mΩ resistance values

Providing resistance values of 5-40mΩ, 1% tolerances and TCR as low as 75ppm, Stackpole has announced the 1.5W rated CSRF0612 series current sense chip resistors. The 0612 size designation denotes that the termination is on the long sides of the part as opposed to the short ends, as with the 1W rated 1206. This longer termination provides higher current handling and lower thermal resistance.

Chip resistors are 100% lead free without exemption

Stackpole's RNCP series chip resistors utilise high volume thin film technology to provide cost effective chip resistors that are 100% lead free and RoHS compliant without exemption. The RNCP's thin film technology doesn’t require the lead containing dielectric as do most commercial high volume thick film chip resistors.
