Real-time clocks save board space
Volume production has commenced of Epson’s new RX8130CE and RX8900CE Real-Time Clocks (RTCs) offering long battery life and small size. Distributor Rutronik offers them as of now. Both new modules, RX8130CE and RX8900CE RTC, are offered in Epson’s smallest ever (3.2 x 2.5 x 1.0mm) package and include an IC and crystal in the package.

Laser bar eases coupling of light into fibres
Rutronik is selling the SPL BF98-40-5 laser bar from Osram Opto Semiconductors, that thanks to its high brilliance considerably reduces the complexity of coupling light into fibres. Both series provide surge tolerance and circuit protection against overload conditions for downstream components. Fast acting fuse protects telecom power supply units

It has been developed to protect telecom power supply units (PSU) and datacentre server power applications where a high-voltage DC interrupting rating is required.
