LinkSwitch AC/DC converter ICs increase current
Power Integrations has announced a new member of its LinkSwitch-TN2 AC/DC converter family. The new LNK3207 ICs facilitate higher-power offline buck converter designs for appliances and industrial applications by increasing the available output current from 360 to 575mA, while also reducing BOM count.
InnoSwitch IC sales surpass one billion units
Power Integrations has announced that shipments of the InnoSwitch ICs have surpassed one billion units. Launched in 2014, the InnoSwitch family was the first to incorporate Power Integrations’ innovative FluxLink communication technology, which provides highly accurate secondary-side control without the need for an optocoupler, resulting in exceptional energy efficiency, reliability and robustness.
MinE-CAP IC reduces volume of AC/DC converters
Power Integrations has announced the MinE-CAP IC for high power density, universal input AC/DC converters. By halving the size of the high-voltage bulk electrolytic capacitors required in offline power supplies, this new type of IC enables a reduction in adapter size of up to 40%. The MinE-CAP device also reduces in-rush current making NTC thermistors unnecessary, increasing system efficiency and reducing heat dissipation.
