Power Integrations has released its Motor-Expert software, an embedded ‘C’ code application, library and control GUI that enables designers using the company’s BridgeSwitch brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver ICs to precisely control and tune single-phase motors.

Power Integrations has announced that its automotive-qualified InnoSwitch3-AQ flyback switcher IC family is now available with a member rated to 900V, providing greater headroom for 400V and 800V electric vehicle inverter, battery management and climate control applications.

Power Integrations has announced the MinE-CAP IC for high power density, universal input AC/DC converters. By halving the size of the high-voltage bulk electrolytic capacitors required in offline power supplies, this new type of IC enables a reduction in adapter size of up to 40%. The MinE-CAP device also reduces in-rush current making NTC thermistors unnecessary, increasing system efficiency and reducing heat dissipation.

Power Integrations has announced new members of its InnoSwitch3 families of offline CV/CC flyback gallium nitride-based AC/DC converter ICs. The new ICs feature up to 95% efficiency across the full load range and up to 100W in enclosed adapter implementations without requiring a heatsink. This increase in performance is achieved using an internally developed high-voltage GaN switch technology.
