GOEPEL electronic introduces a special link software to migrate test vectors to Agilent In-Circuit Testers (ICT). The vector link was developed in cooperation with the GATE Program member WG-Test and supports the transfer of hybrid Boundary Scan test sets to the parallel pin electronics at parallel pin level fault diagnosis.
A direct takeover of test vectors, which have already been successfully verified on the prototype stage, also to the New Product Introduction (NPI) stage is an important strategic process aspect for our customers”, says Stefan Meissner, GOEPEL electronic’s spokesman and PR Manager. “The available vector link for the entire Agilent ICT product range complements the already existing high performant integration solutions, and helps our customers to react to the production test’s individual performance demands even more effective. Simultaneously, we are glad that the young cooperation with the experts of WG-Test already shows such results.”

“We succeeded in connecting the very good test vector generation and evaluation of GOEPEL electronic’s system with the high-quality pin electronics of the HP/Agilent 3070 test system”, adds Walter Grandjot, Managing Director for WG-Test. “On the one hand, the Boundary Scan test development complexity was equalized on the In-Circuit test system, because it can be executed off production. Additionally, a takeover of already generated and checked test vectors is possible. On the other hand, signals can be send the standard test fixture without including additional pin electronics. All in all, the result is a simple and efficient test development, combined with high test coverage.”

The vector link works as bidirectional software bridge between Agilent ICT and the JTAG/Boundary Scan software SYSTEM CASCON™, whereby all platforms are supported. The vector transfer is implemented via direct generation of the native ICT format. All serial TAP vectors as well as parallel I/O vectors are transferred to the pin electronics. Users can simply software handle various hardware configurations of the target tester. Furthermore, the vector link also allows to transfer back response vectors to the Boundary Scan software, enabling an online fault diagnosis on pin level.

On this basis, vectors generated and verified with SYSTEM CASCON™ can simply be implemented to an Agilent ICT for infrastructure tests, interconnection tests, cluster tests or memory access tests. Included are transfers of Std. IEEE1149.6 compatible vectors to test AC-coupled networks.

For all tests, the HYSCAN™ technology, integrated in SYSTEM CASCON™ enables to control additional ICT probes as virtual native scan cells, and fully exploits the test coverage achievable per ICT.

The new vector link is compatible with SYSTEM CASCON™ from version 4.5.3 and is exclusively shipped by GOEPEL electronic. The software is free-of-charge for OEM, ODM and EMS customers. Support in generating and project transfer is available at the Company WG-Test and additional authorised test houses.
