Quality Electronics Design S.A. has announced an advanced system for the measurement of the micro interruptions of electrical contacts. The measurement system offers the functionality required by the USCAR, Flexray, GMV3192, IEC 60512-1,2 and DIN norms for the quality control of the electrical contacts in the automotive and industrial connectors. The system identifies micro interruptions with a standard resolution of 25 nSec and a trigger level that can be freely defined.
The GnΩstic64 system includes the additional measurement channels for the parallel recording of the temperature and the excitation frequency during the durability tests.
The GnΩstic64 system comes with all sensors and cables required for the durability tests from -70°C to +200°C. The unique concept of data capture allows the measurement and recording of the time signals during a contact micro interruption. In parallel the trend of the contact resistance is recorded during the full test, thus giving a complete evaluation of the contact quality.

The GnΩstic64 is completed with the software application for the analysis of the recorded data. The analysis software offers the identification of all time signals of all micro interruptions and classifies the results in classes according to the interrupt length. It also offers the statistical analysis of the micro interruptions against the temperature and the excitation frequency to identify any possible correlation.

The analysis software can be installed, free of charge, on any Windows® PC to make the results available easily and quickly to any lab engineer or technician. The analysis software saves time and gives the results quickly available for reporting.
