electronica 2016 was the launch pad for GL Optic’s GL SPECTROLUX, a handheld spectrometer setting new price standards. The new illuminance spectroradiometer addresses the need for a portable, high performance, economical solutions for lighting designers, field engineers and manufacturers.

Commercial, industrial, retail and residential lighting are rapidly transitioning to comprehensive, energy-efficient lighting systems based on LEDs, requiring quick and reliable light measurement instruments in the field.

The new instrument, designed for easy of use by non-experts, allows rapid assessments of photometric and colorimetric properties of lighting systems.

The GL SPECTROLUX, based on GL’s more advanced and popular SPECTIS 1.0 Touch device, is a lower cost alternative that still provides equivalent performance in evaluating light quantities such as lux, CRI, CCT, colour and more.

As with other devices of the GL SPECTIS series, the GL SPECTROLUX includes a Class B measurement head for superior accuracy and repeatability. The handheld device features a colour LCD screen, USB connectivity, and internal storage for more than 20,000 measurements.

The optional analytical software GL SPECTROSOFT supports data downloads and the preparation of comprehensive reports.
