PIN photodiodes boast 0.7 mm profile
Two surface-mount Automotive Grade silicon PIN photodiodes in the compact 0805 case size with a low 0.7 mm profile — 0.15 mm lower than previous-generation devices – have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology.
OmniVision medical RGB-IR image sensor reduces endoscope size
OmniVision Technologies has announced the OH02A1S, an medical RGB-IR image sensor, which provides simultaneous white-light RGB captures and infrared monochrome captures in a single CMOS sensor. While endoscopic precancer and cancer detection procedures are performed using IR light, surgeons also need RGB light to confirm any abnormalities detected using infrared.
HP60A-15KW-GD power meter for high laser output powers
The new HP60A-15KW-GD power meter from Gentec-EO is designed for the high intensities of powerful lasers with comparatively small beam diameters (< 50mm). With a damage threshold of 10kW/cm², it withstands continuous output powers of up to 15 kW. A gold cone reflector directs the incoming light to the sides of the aperture to spread the intensity of the beam effectively over a larger area.
eBook discusses smart home design challenges
A new eBook that explores strategies for overcoming challenges facing designers of smart home devices has been published by Mouser Electronics produced in collaboration with STMicroelectronics.
ADI collaborates with Microsoft to produce 3D imaging products
Analog Devices has announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to leverage Microsoft’s 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor technology, allowing customers to easily create high performance 3D applications that bring higher degrees of depth accuracy and work regardless of the environmental conditions in the scene.
Xilinx and Continental production-ready 4D imaging radar for autonomous driving
Xilinx and Continental have announced that Xilinx will power Continental’s new Advanced Radar Sensor (ARS) 540 with the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC platform, creating a production-ready 4D imaging radar. The collaboration enables newly-produced vehicles equipped with the ARS540 to realise SAE J3016 Level 2 functionalities and will pave the way toward Level 5 autonomous driving systems.
Melexis unveils QVGA resolution ToF sensor to complete its Gen 3 portfolio
Melexis has announced the introduction and production volume availability of the MLX75026, an AEC-Q100 qualified QVGA Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. The MLX75026 is the third generation of QVGA ToF devices from Melexis and joins the wider product portfolio.
Air quality sensor system delivered on a single chip
The SGP40 is Sensirion’s digital volatile organic compounds (VOC) sensor designed for easy integration into air treatment devices and air quality monitors.
Thermopile detectors for non-contact temperature measurement
LASER COMPONENTS has been working with Dexter Research Centre, a specialist producer of thermopile detectors. These devices are well suited for non-contact temperature measurement in applications such as health care, process control and environmental monitoring.
Accelerating Lidar innovations for autonomous driving
dSPACE and Velodyne Lidar has entered into a partnership to accelerate future developments of lidar technologies for autonomous driving. To this end, dSPACE, has joined the Velodyne program ‘Automated with Velodyne.’ The program aims to accelerate ecosystem interactions and rapidly integrate lidar innovations into a range of autonomous solutions including autonomous driving.
