MAX25205 enables dynamic gesture sensing for automotive
Designers of automotive systems can now add dynamic hand-gesture controls with greater ease at a low cost and small size with the MAX25205 data acquisition system from Maxim Integrated Products. Featuring integrated optics and a 6x10 infrared (IR) sensor array, the MAX25205 detects swipe and hand-rotation gestures without the complexity of time-of-flight (ToF) cameras at a lower cost and up to 75% smaller size.
Humidity sensors offer typical accuracy of ±0.2 degrees
The new HTU31 relative humidity sensors from TE Connectivity (TE), is now being shipped by distributor Mouser Electronics.
Partnership delivers MBN52832 embedded Bluetooth module
Murata announces the integration of Wirepas Mesh, the wireless connectivity software focused on industrial grade, large-scale IoT applications, with its MBN52832 embedded Bluetooth Module, creating a scalable solution for low-power sensor networks.
TorqSense aids pharmaceutical high speed packaging
TorqSense transducers are used to ensure caps are being properly fitted to pharmaceutical bottles in a high speed packaging line run by the Almac Group at its global headquarters in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, UK.
Optical sensors can replace conventional limit switches
The OPB715Z – OPB718Z family of reflective optical sensors from TT Electronics – Optek is in stock at distributor TTI.
IR sensors for use in fire detection devices
Since its founding, LASER COMPONENTS has specialised in IR sensors for use in fire detection devices. The company manufactures both lead sulphide and pyroelectric detectors at its assembly plant in Tempe.
Ultra-low power CO2 sensor from Gas Sensing Solutions
Gas Sensing Solutions, a pioneer in solid-state gas sensors, has launched a new ultra-low-power CO₂ sensor. The CozIR-LP3 includes on-board power management, allowing the user to control sensor power consumption during measurements and when the sensor is inactive. The user can reduce active current consumption to <1µA without switching off the sensor.
Omron optical sensors in a touch-free post-COVID world
Omron has announced that it is supporting the safe reopening of spaces after lockdown with a wide range of optical sensors. These components can form a vital part of an effective infection control regime within buildings, rooms and even crowd-controlled spaces by monitoring body temperature measurement, counting the density of people in an area and reducing the need to touch surfaces.
Wireless industrial node simplifies IoT applications
In stock now at distributor Mouser Electronics is the STWIN SensorTile wireless industrial node from STMicroelectronics (ST).
PIN photodiodes boast 0.7 mm profile
Two surface-mount Automotive Grade silicon PIN photodiodes in the compact 0805 case size with a low 0.7 mm profile — 0.15 mm lower than previous-generation devices – have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology.
