The R-78W wired switching regulator is also suitable for use in prototyping applications and for use in portable and battery-operated devices. Operating from an input voltage range of 6.5-32V, the regulator offers high efficiency of up to 96% and standard output voltages of 5, 9 or 12V with an output current of up to 500mA.
Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C, the R-78W module features short-circuit-protection (shut-down with automatic restart) and an integrated protection diode to prevent damage from reverse currents when switching off. Measuring 17.5×11.5×8.5mm, the compact regulator does not require a heatsink.
