Electronica 2022: AT the Neocrotec stand, visitors – or even passersby – could check that the halls of electronica were maintaining the 19°C temperature limit mandated by the German government for public spaces.

The Neocortec stand had a central monitor connected to a NeoMesh network module which was the handiwork of electrical engineering undergraduate, Markus Rytter who is working at the company this year.

Markus used the NeoMesh network module with a Sensirion environmental sensor and a Nordic Semiconductor Bluetooth Low Energy chipset. The accompanying application software was written by Markus enabling the module to show temperature, humidity and CO2 measurements as well as the mesh network coverage in various parts of the hall.

The company also introduced a new module, optimised for integrated antenna design. The module was developed in response to customer feedback for designs. The breakout board is compatible with the Adafruit Feature series of development boards, which support the Arduino development environment. It can also be used as a standalone module offering easy access to the I/O if the NeoMesh module to wire sensors and actuators directly. The addition of a small battery can create a full sensor prototype, says the company.
