“Two years ago (July 2005), we announced a major two-year research programme into the performance and applications of audio capacitors. We have now come to the end of this major research programme and the results very exciting.
The research has been conducted in cooperation with the Department of Trade & Industry and Dr Phil Duncan of Salford University.

We believe that this level of research into audio capacitors was a first in our industry. We are now in a position to quantify many of the previously assumed ‘performance data’ associated with these high quality products.

The research has encompassed all of the materials used in audio capacitors and any existing performance data together with analysis of manufacturing processes and techniques. Indeed, we have established a link between audio properties such as clarity and spatial information and the material properties of capacitors through a series of listening tests.

We have also gathered opinion from respected companies in the audio sector and in the final phase, we were working towards providing some definitive product performance guidelines that would result in improved audio capacitor performance and a much better understanding of all of the factors that influence this performance.

By the end of this year, we will be introducing a new capacitor into our extensive range that will, of course, be based on what we have discovered and, at the same time, offer product advantages new to the market.”
