Dolphin Integration has announced its silicon-proven Virtual Component of IP, targeting the growing market of smart meters. The Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05, featuring a complete measurement subsystem for single-phase power metering ICs, is available for fabless and SoC integrators in technological processes at 180 and 130nm.

Users of Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05 can benefit from a high-resolution mixed-signal Front-End (sensAFE-20x32-PM-mono.05-LB) and a dense Power and energy Computation Engine (PCE-PM.01). Furthermore, this product embeds a low-drift voltage reference and a low-noise voltage regulator. Thanks to lower constraints on supply noise, the safest integration process is ensured with a reduction in BOM.

Dolphin has unveiled the measurement report of its end-to-end metering product, containing the Analog Front-Ends (Silicon qualifier) and the Computation Engine (on FPGA). The Metro-PM-Jade-mono.05 has been tested, for association with both a current transformer sensor and a shunt resistor.

It offers accuracy of 0.05 and 0.07%, with a range of 5,000 / 3,000. Additionally, the accuracy of the measurements enables gathering of types of advanced data, which can be exploited to supply users with better information and to serve utilities in the energy production management sector.
