The VS-401, provided in a 13 mm x 20 mm RoHS-conform SMD package, is designed for output frequencies from 1.3 GHz to 2.1 GHz. The device operates at 5 V supply voltage and provides in the temperature range from -20°C to +85°C a single-ended sinewave output of 5 dBm.
Analog-to-digital converter (ADC) signal to noise ratio (SNR) is constrained by the broadband jitter of the reference clock, and this constraint grows as frequency of the input signal increases. Since the VS-401 provides less than 12 fsec broadband jitter, this allows high performance data converters to meet their full potential in terms of SNR and effective number of bits (ENOB), freeing up performance benefits that designers can take advantage of downstream in their architecture.
With the industry’s lowest rms jitter, the VS-401 is ideally suited for use in extremely high-quality test and measurement equipment and 100 Gigabit networks. Detailed information and samples of the VS-401 can be requested by sending an email to frequency-vectron@msc-ge.com.
