KickStart Kit for low-power Renesas RX111 MCUs
Expanding its support for the low-power RX111 microcontrollers from Renesas, IAR Systems has unveiled the IAR KickStart Kit for RX111. Based on the Renesas Promotion Board, the KickStart Kit can be used to evaluate the tools and the microcontroller, and also to design, develop, integrate and test applications.
Taking guess work out of identifying backplane profiles
Two new interactive charts which take the guess work out of identifying the OpenVPX backplane profile for new VPX designs has been announced by Elma Bustronic. Available with either Elma’s 3U or 6U backplanes, the new VPX resources provide a snapshot of the profiles in an easy-to-read document.
Altium Vault Server Version 1.2 & new TC2 unveiled
The new Altium Vault Server Version 1.2 and all new product Team Configuration Center (TC2) has been released by Altium. The Altium Vault manages native electronic design data, including its revision history, life-cycle state and supply chain information whilst hosted on an organization's own network infrastructure.
FT121 G-Sensor shield focusses on Arduino-based gaming
Adding to its range of hardware solutions for those working with the Arduino open-source electronics development platform, FTDI Chip has announced the FT121 G-Sensor shield. Focussing on the implementation of Arduino-based gaming systems, the FT121 G-Sensor shield enables such projects to be conceived and subsequently executed simply and rapidly through its USB human interface device (HID) class support.
New evaluation kit for A4915 3-phase MOSFET controller IC
Allegro Microsystems have today announced a new product evaluation kit for helping customers during the design process for the company’s A4915 3-phase MOSFET controller IC. Consisting of a printed-circuit board containing everything required to spin and control a brushless DC (BLDC) motor, all the user has to do is provide a voltage supply and the motor itself.
Integrated gateway platform simplifies small cell deployment
Broadcom introduce a new integrated gateway platform which has been optimised to simplify small cell deployment in emerging markets. Combining the BCM61630 single-chip solution with Alcatel-Lucent's widely-deployed small cells software for Ultra-Broadband Access, the platform allows ODMs to create and integrate small cells into a wide variety of products that will easily integrate into existing core operator networks.
TrueTouch controllers support Fujifilm mesh sensors
Cypress Semiconductor have today made available the CY3290-TMA500 and CYTK58 TrueTouch Evaluation Kits that enable customers to design with Fujifilm metal mesh sensors. With metal mesh sensors delivering better scanning performance than traditional indium tin oxide (ITO) sensors, Cypress's new evaluation kit aims to provide more value and design options to OEM designers.
RX100 MCUs provide exceptional EMC performance
Renesas Electronics Europe and Langer EMV have jointly revealed that the Renesas RX100 microcontroller family is highly robust against environmental noise. Since the MCU no longer needs to be protected by a specific transient voltage surge suppressor or an expensive multilayer ceramic capacitor, the exceptional electromagnetic compatibility performance of the RX110 MCUs helps reduce development and bill of material costs.
Industry's first development tool for 20 nm FPGAs and SoCs
Altera introduce the industry's first development tool support for 20 nm FPGAs and SoCs, the Quartus II software Arria 10 edition. Offering the fastest compile times in the industry, the familiar and proven Quartus II design environment can be used by customers to start developing Arria 10 FPGA and SoC-based systems.
ARM Compiler Qualification Kit achieves certification against safety standards
The ARM Compiler Qualification Kit, a documentation package specifically designed to help developers achieve certification against safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262, has been unveiled today by ARM. Providing evidence of the robustness and maturity of the ARM Compiler toolchain, the kit can save months of effort for users who would otherwise have to create their own evidence for justifying their toolchain selection.
