USB 3.0 controller enables HD video capture
AVerMedia Technologies has selected Cypress’s EZ-USB FX3 USB 3.0 controller for its HD video capture card, the ExtremeCap U3. The card leverages the EZ-USB FX3 as a USB 3.0 device bridge with bandwidth of 5 Gbps, enabling it to record and stream game play at Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and 60 fps via HDMI or other component inputs, without requiring compression that degrades image quality.
Cadence licenses MPEG AAC codecs from Fraunhofer IIS
Licensing the full suite of MPEG AAC codecs from Fraunhofer IIS for use with the Tensilica HiFi DSP, Cadence Design Systems plans to use the products to enhance the library of over 100 audio/voice software packages optimised for the HiFi DSP family. New standards include the AAC-ELD communication codec, which enables telephone conversations with the highest possible audio quality, and xHE-AAC, which is the latest upgrade to the MPEG AAC family of...
SDK enables HD audio streaming over WiFi networks
Expanding the company's WICED (Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices) portfolio, Broadcom has introduced an SDK to enable HD audio streaming over WiFi networks. It also features support for Apple AirPlay, enabling media streaming from iOS devices.
Quick and accurate design of RF base station filters
Prism Microwave uses AWR's Microwave Office circuit design software for its cavity filter tuning and optimization, as well as the design of active RF electronics and planar components on printed circuit boards, including low noise amplifiers, drivers, power amplifiers, dividers, hybrids, attenuators, oscillators, and planar/discrete filters.
Vehicle electrical system software updated
Supporting the S1000D documentation standard, the latest Capital suite software release has been announced by Mentor Graphics. By using the Capital Publisher tool, users can automatically generate S1000D-compliant information packages directly from their electrical design data. This significantly reduces the costs and lead times associated with technical documentation creation.
