EMKA (UK) Ltd announces advancements in its Agent E swinghandle and accompanying accessories, designed to enhance cabinet security through wireless communication.

These innovations are crucial for protecting valuable or sensitive data in environments such as server parks and manufacturing or utility centres. The EMKA wireless Control Unit can manage up to 1,200 handles within a single wireless network, with secure authentication provided by 13.56MHz RFID cards, allowing for remote access. An optional 4-eye security feature enhances authentication, requiring two recognised cards.

The Agent E wireless handles also feature a connection option for a single-door contact and are ideal for retrofit projects, offering highly energy-efficient battery operation with a minimum battery life of three years. An integrated USB port facilitates an emergency power function.

EMKA Rack Management Systems, installed globally in data centres and server parks, including those of banks and co-location centres, are pivotal in securing server racks from unauthorised access. Utilising a combination of electromechanical handles, software, and radio technology, the ‘Agent E’ type handle has been effectively implemented by numerous high-profile clients. This system not only allows personalised access but also enables continuous monitoring and control of the doors' opening and closing actions.

As the demands for physical security in modern IT infrastructure escalate, these Rack Management Systems provide essential logging and backtracking capabilities at the cabinet level, ensuring stringent access control. Additionally, the systems monitor physical parameters within the racks, thereby enhancing the operational reliability of the facilities. These capabilities are supported by database-driven control software, high-capacity modules, and electromechanical handles.
