Compact SoC module compatible with range of plug-in cards
At Embedded World 2018 in Nuremberg, Enclustra will present the Mercury+ XU1. Visitors to booth 3-210 will discover the company's fastest SoC module based on the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC. It accommodates six ARM cores, a Mali 400MP2 GPU, up to 4GB of fast DDR4 ECC SDRAM, numerous standard interfaces, 294 user I/Os and up to 747,000 LUT4 equivalents – all on an area smaller than a credit card.
Flexible FMC allows for general-purpose I/O expansion
Manufacturer of integrated systems, embedded boards, enabling software and application-ready platforms, VadaTech, has announced the FMC155. The FMC155 is an FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) per VITA 57.1 standard, offering a small footprint and allowing for general-purpose I/O expansion.
Adapter board accelerates Raspberry Pi-based designs
The DesignSpark Raspberry Pi Pmod(TM) (Peripheral Module) HAT adapter board has been launched by RS Components. Manufactured by Digilent, the Pmod HAT adapter enables users of the highly popular credit-card-sized computer to rapidly develop electronic design prototypes. The Pmod adapter breaks new ground for RS: it is the first DesignSpark-branded product released in conjunction with one of its suppliers.
Budget motherboard suitable for casual users
Offering what the company claims to be a well-balanced set of features without the premium price point, BIOSTAR has introduced the B250MDC motherboard. The BIOSTAR B250MDC motherboard is a suitable solution for an entry-level desktop computer for daily multitasking use, office application and home entertainment. The B250MDC features a compact micro-ATX form factor that fits in most budget cases. The B250MDC also uses the Intel B250...
Cross bar switch supports rear-to-rear and front-to-front routing
Manufacturer of integrated systems, embedded boards, enabling software and application-ready platforms, VadaTech, has announced the AMC241. The AMC241 is a 36x36 Cross Bar Switch (CBS) in the AMC form factor which allows any of the 20 lanes from the backplane to be routed to the front.
Development kit jumpstarts FPGA designs
Microsemi has teamed up with Digi-Key Electronics to provide the SmartFusion2 system-on-chip (SoC) field programmable gate array (FPGA) maker board exclusively to Digi-Key’s global customer base. This low-cost evaluation platform lowers the barrier for hardware and firmware engineers to develop embedded applications for the ARM Cortex-M3 and 12K logic elements (LE) FPGA fabric in the SmartFusion2 device.
Development board extends FPGA design options
A development board, dubbed Avalanche, which features a Microsemi PolarFire non-volatile field programmable gate array (FPGA) has been announced by Microsemi and Future Electronics. As the lowest cost entry development board available today for designing with Microsemi's lowest power, cost-optimised mid-range PolarFire FPGAs, Future's Avalanche board lowers the barrier to entry for PolarFire FPGAs and helps expand Microsemi's market opportunities...
