DEK Solar is preparing to take its brand new Eclipse photovoltaic metallization platform to the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (SNEC). The DEK Solar team will be on stand 360 in Hall E3 from February 22nd – 24th, 2011, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in China, where it will be showcasing Eclipse’s pioneering modular design concept.

DEK Solar’s new Eclipse platform is a high throughput metallization technology featuring parallel print head processing options to maximise productive uptime. Incorporating six-sigma repeatability at class-leading accuracies, print speeds of 600mm/sec, advanced handling, integrated vision inspection and superior positional accuracy, the breakthrough platform is based on an innovative design featuring retrofittable modules that enable manufacturers to easily scale production to 1200, 2400 or 3600wph. Representing a highly scalable production advantage, the Eclipse will take centre stage on the DEK Solar booth at SNEC.

Eclipse’s primary process modules, including the print head and loader, incorporate master controls, meaning that additional process modules operate as secondary “slaves” to remove the cost of further control units. Eclipse performance can be easily upgraded in the field for manufacturers who forsee a production ramp up. Spacer process modules can be deployed at initial installation, then simply exchanged for additional print capacity when demand dictates. This eliminates the need to reconfigure the entire line to accomodate extra modules to streamline scalability even further.

Commenting on the company’s presence at SNEC 2011, DEK Solar Alternative Energy Business Manager, Darren Brown, explains: “We’re looking forward to visiting SNEC, which always provides a valuable opportunity for visitors to discover state-of-the-art photovoltaic technologies. Since its launch earlier in the year, Eclipse has generated a significant amount of interest industry-wide. A true industry first, the platform is totally modular, scalable and configurable. The result is that manufacturers only need to invest in the Eclipse features and performance they need today, while also knowing that when they want to expand capacity into the future, it’s simply a case of slotting in extra modules. Because scale-up cost is only incremental, not an entire new platform investment, Eclipse is a future-proof metallization solution delivering a major competitive advantage to our customers – as SNEC visitors will discover!”
