Chomerics Europe, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, has introduced a new corrosion resistant, electrically conductive sealant. CHO-BOND 1016 is a single component RTV silicone filled with nickel-plated graphite particles.
The new material is ideal for use between aluminium surfaces on outdoor enclosures where environmental sealing, plus EMI shielding and resistance to galvanic corrosion are required.

Supplied in either 0.3kg (10 oz.) or 71g (2.5 oz.) tubes, CHO-BOND 1016 offers a dispensed bead thickness of 0.18mm (0.007in.) minimum, to 1.2mm (0.040in.) maximum. The new compound may also be supplied as a form-in-place seal. CHO-BOND 1016 cures in the presence of moisture at room temperature. Skin formation takes only a few minutes with full properties developing in one week.

Operating temperature range is –45ºC to 125ºC, shielding effectiveness is greater than 50dB.
