A wide-view fluorescent magnifying lamp from Aven, Inc. adds precision and expanded examination area because of its seven-inch lens and 32-watt circular illumination.
Aven's Maxi-Mag bulb size and 3-diopter lens diameter are larger than similar lamps from other manufacturers, which have 22-watt bulbs and five-inch lenses. The differences bring greater efficiency, flexibility and comfort for electronics manufacturing and other industrial applications.

We provide an unrivaled field of view and work space, says Mike Shahpurwala, president of Aven, a global distributor of precision tools and optical inspection systems. This adjustable lamp gives uniformly crisp, shadow-free close-ups of parts, electronic connections, lab samples, documents and other objects -- without heat from an incandescent bulb.

The lens enlarges 1.75x or a total of 4x with an optional 5-diopter second lens that swings into position when needed for inspecting circuit boards and other electronics.

A spring-balanced arm with jointed neck and tension control knob allows up to 45 inches of reach by Maxi-Mag's ivory-colored, mar-resistant plastic body, which has a sleek, contemporary style. The 115-volt (AC) lamp has a five-foot electrical cord and C-clamp for mounting on a desk, workbench or table. A weighted base is available.

Stable positioning of the swiveling lamp precisely where needed is a handy time-saver, particularly for busy lab or industrial applications, says Shahpurwala of Aven. Maxi-Mag users tell us it helps simplify work flow. The lamp has a one-year warranty. A digital catalog is at www.aveninc.com
