Aqueous Technologies Corp., North America’s largest provider of batch defluxing systems, and Kyzen, a world leading provider of environmentally responsible precision cleaning products for electronics and high-technology manufacturing operations, will hold a free technical workshop titled “Cleaning Electronic Assemblies” at two separate locations in Texas.
The first workshop is scheduled to take place Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Richardson, TX and the second will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel in Houston, TX.

Featured speakers include Aqueous Technologies’ President Michael Konrad, Kyzen’s CTO Dr. Mike Bixenman and Forsite Inc.’s Eric Camden.

Once commonplace, the cleaning of post-reflow circuit assemblies has become increasingly eliminated due to the popularity of no-clean fluxes in the late 1980s and early 1990s.Today, component and assembly miniaturization, more aggressive reflow profiles, and increased reliability expectations have combined to reduce the volume of allowable contamination acceptable on an electronics assembly.

The removal of flux and other process residues is among the fastest growing yet least understood processes in the electronics assembly industry today. The one-day Cleaning Electronic Assemblies technical workshop will answer many common questions about cleaning including:

•Why are we cleaning no-clean?

•How clean is clean?

•How much does it cost to clean an assembly?

•What chemicals are required?

•What types of equipment are available?

•What are the contamination failure mechanisms?

•How does lead-free affect cleaning?

•Is cleaning environmentally safe?

•Can I discharge effluent?

These and many more questions will be answered, followed by a free lunch. Seating is limited, so register today for the Richardson workshop at http://events.r20.constant contact.com/register/event?llr=afhm8xcab&oeidk=a07e4dqgte89008e5b6 or http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=afhm8xcab&oeidk=a07e4dqv9bsa362b131 for the Houston workshop.
