IDTechEx webinar explores wearable technology

IDTechEx has announced that it will host a free webinar on Tuesday July 22nd 2014 presented by Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx and entitled ‘Wearable Technology 2015-2025’. The first wave of conventional wearable technology was a big market for electronics on the ear and wrist; the second wave is starting now, consisting of web-connected and advanced technology watches, glasses, headsets, smart skin patches and virtual reality headsets. A third wave is planned involving e-fibres in e-textiles.

This webinar will cover:  

  • Conventional electronic wearables such as wristwatches are  already a large market – a lesson on what gets commoditised;
  • Why the new market is growing fast & warning signs of excessive exuberance;
  • Opportunities for large and small businesses;
  • Results of IDTechEx assessment of 550 manufacturers;
  • Focus of work on e-fibres;
  • Forecasts for all wearable electronics, including the best sectors.

There are two identical sessions taking place on Tuesday July 22nd: at 9.30am BST and 5.00pm BST. Those who wish to attend are free to join whichever session is most convenient.The webinars will last for 30 minutes, with 10 minutes for Q&A.
