At ENLIT 2023 Analog Devices will be demonstrating its holistic view of the energy grid, and the company’s solutions for grid modernisation, from renewable energy generation to energy storage, grid digitalisation, and charging infrastructure.

Regardless of complexity, ADI solutions aim to simplify the paradigm into energy conversion, energy management, and energy storage.

Experience ADI’s demos at Stand 7.2.C10:

New shunt-based polyphase energy meter solution

Analog Devices’ 2nd generation of isolated ADCs brings significant improvements for shunt-based energy measurements in terms of form factor, performance, and EMI. A polyphase AC energy meter solution will be shown, measuring 3-phases and the neutral to be used in utility electric meters, as well as ‘behind-the-meter’ applications.

Smart meter portfolio

Analog Devices offers a wide variety of single-phase and polyphase solutions to meet different smart meter use cases. This demo will show ADI solutions spanning from its innovative mSure self-calibration, metre accuracy monitoring with advanced tamper detection, to its power management solutions with supercap chargers.

Class S power quality monitoring solution

Power Quality Monitoring is becoming more critical for the reliability and stability of the grid as a variety of DERs (Distributed Energy Resources) are getting connected. Furthermore, being able to measure the Power Quality being delivered gives better insights to improve energy efficiency and optimise uptime of the end equipment. This demo will show the ADI solution for a certified IEC 61000-4-30 Class S Power Quality Meter.

DC metering solutions

The need to measure DC is expanding with the increase in DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, as well as a variety of grid systems operating on DC power. Analog Devices is showing the latest solution that is a fit for both AC as well as DC applications.

Power conversion solutions

The increase in renewable DERs creates a need for improved grid stability. Bi-directional on-board chargers (OBCs) such as this 11kW OBC featuring ADI’s new Smart Switch product family, enable electric vehicles to contribute their energy to the grid and deliver grid stability and peak shaving when needed most.

Energy storage solutions

Energy Storage Systems are essential to stabilise the grid with increased onboarding of renewable generation, and annual deployment is forecast to increase 6-fold by 2030. This demo is a complete BMS system for Li-ion battery Energy Storage that highlights ADI's highest accuracy BMS, most robust isolated communications and MCU hardware and software.

EV AC charging solutions

The addition of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment on the grid is expanding quickly but needs to accelerate even further. ADI empowers our customers to build their own charging system quickly and easily, with the help of 2 open reference designs: a 22kW AC Wallbox (Level 2) platform with metrology and charge controller, and a 3.6kW AC Cordset (Level 1) reference design.
