NEXCOM's DNA 840 platform is a cost-effective Desktop Network Appliance which is specifically aimed at entry level applications within home-based offices, small offices and SME. Featuring an on-board VIA C7 processor 1GHz with 400 MHz FSB, the DNA 840 consumes relatively low levels of power without sacrificing performance, whilst its revolutionary hardware based encryption engine makes for fast and secure data transmission. In addition, the DNA 840 with build-in LAN bypass acts as transparent bridge to provide uninterrupted network connection even when the system is down.
With its reliable design and modern silver front panel, the DNA 840 is a low noise and easy maintenance platform. The DNA 840 is well suited to desktop applications and is capable of managing a network workload of between 50 and100 users. To enhance its mobility and expansion flexibility, the DNA 840 has a Mini PCI slot ideal for wireless connection.

Integrated with Intel® 82551ER Fast Ethernet Controller, the DNA 840 can perform high-speed data transfers to enable efficient data flow from PCI bus. This feature supports the load balance function and augments Quality of Service (QoS) performance to relieve bottlenecks of network traffic.

The ready-for-application DNA 840 can be configured to function as a firewall, VPN, and network bandwidth management, Anti-virus, mail filter and more.
