Rutronik is now stocking the intelligent RGB LEDs of the OSIRE 3731i series from ams OSRAM.

The light source has an integrated driver, improved colour accuracy, and increased brightness. The open system protocol (OSP) allows serial data communication between hundreds of LEDs to execute almost any colour algorithm. Thanks to the combination of intelligent LED and OSP, car manufacturers can implement dynamic interior lighting more cost-efficiently with a simpler architecture, fewer components, and less cabling. The LEDs come in an SMD housing.

The intelligent RGB components have an embedded IC that contains optical measurement data with set values of 10 mA and 50 mA. An external microcontroller can control each device in a daisy-chain architecture via an open system protocol that allows the controller to read data. This enables the execution of any colour algorithm with improved accuracy and homogeneity. The devices are predestined for applications in vehicle interiors that require highly dynamic RGB lighting scenarios and deliver a broad colour spectrum and increased brightness for dynamic colour effects.

The LEDs require a supply voltage of 5 VDC. The optimum operating temperature is between -40 °C and +110 °C.

Features at a glance:

  • Integrated μDriver
  • Colour emissions: Red (612-630 nm), True Green (513-545 nm), Blue (450-480 nm)
  • Beam angle 120°
  • Automatic addressing of the LEDs within a daisy chain
  • Corrosion robustness class 2B
  • AEC-Q102-003-qualified

Application:

  • Ambient lighting of vehicles
