Committed to the future of renewable energy and applications in electric vehicles, Ohmite’s new ES-600 is a high precision, automotive grade current sensing module which will be shown for the first time at electronica on Stand B6-100.
Just one of many new products on display, the ES-600 uses the standard CAN2.0A/B communication protocol. It can also support 1Mbps/250kbps.
Applications include battery current monitoring for automotive applications, grid energy storage, UPS, and on charging stations.
Also making their debut are several new loadbanks. Forming an integral part of everyday applications such as power generation, data centres, aerospace, wind farms, and battery discharge testing loadbanks are intended to accurately mimic the operational or “real” load which a power source will see in actual application, Ohmite’s new range includes a desktop version designed for convenient operation.
Often featuring precision load control, variable load profiles, remote monitoring, and control, data logging and analysis, safety features, modular design, high efficiency, and compatibility with control systems, Ohmite engineers are skilled at designing both standard and custom versions.
Always looking for ways to make design engineers’ lives easier and improve production requirements, Ohmite have two new products on show which do exactly that. The new footprint of their HVS series makes it a direct drop-in replacement for other aluminium-housed resistors currently on the market.
Available in both 25W and 50W power ratings, the HVS series is housed inside an aluminium extrusion for extra power dissipation, greater ingress protection, and easier mounting. Designed for direct heatsink mounting with thermal compound to achieve maximum performance, and have several termination options depending on the application. The HVS series is also available in non-inductive designs.
Designed to replace any TO-263 package, Ohmite’s new TSM55 resistor is rated at 55W with a thermal resistance of 3.0°C/W in a surface-mount design capable of high-wattage dissipation with the proper heatsink and thermal considerations.
Sharing the same land pattern as any TO-263 with a low profile, the TSM55 has a larger resistance area, which promotes higher energy and greater thermal performance, and the lack of wire bonds provides greater reliability.
