At electronica 2026 in Munich, Isabellenhütte presents BAN-AL, a busbar shunt that integrates the company’s ZERANIN precision alloy directly into aluminium architectures. The current sensor is designed for battery management, current sensing in busbars and energy storage systems.
Precision where the busbar is aluminium
Aluminium busbars are increasingly replacing copper in electric vehicle storage, saving weight and material cost. Integrating a precise shunt into these structures has been a challenge. Isabellenhuetten’s busbar shunt BAN-AL solves it with weldable aluminium terminals and a reliable aluminium–copper connection, so the shunt fits straight into existing aluminium designs.
The measuring element is made of ZERANIN, Isabellenhütte’s precision resistance alloy. With an overall temperature coefficient of ±20ppm/K, it delivers the highest accuracy across the operating temperature range. Several variants are available, and the sensor can be customised to specific busbar geometries and current ranges.
‘Electrifying our connected world’
Isabellenhütte also shows its wider portfolio: wide-terminal resistors for high-power automotive applications, compact shunts with high power and lowest TCR for power steering, thin-film precision resistors for industrial applications. Current sensing solutions that ensure long-term accuracy for energy management in high-voltage systems in commercial vehicles.
Visitors can meet the team at electronica 2026, Messe München, 10–13 November 2026, hall B6, booth 330.
