Thermal imaging range joins RS roster
RS Components has strengthened its thermal imaging instruments offering by signing a distribution agreement with FLIR Systems. The instruments are suitable for testing, troubleshooting and building-maintenance applications. RS is selling the FLIR E4/E5/E6/E8 and FLIR E40/E50/E60 thermal imaging cameras, as well as the newly launched FLIR TG165 imaging IR thermometer and FLIR C2, the world's first full-featured, pocket-sized thermal camera.
Connectors withstand explosive environments
RS Components has extended its range of interconnection solutions serving industries such as mining, chemicals, process automation, and oil and gas, with the addition of HARTING Han Ex connectors for use in potentially explosive environments. Han Ex connectors meet the intrinsic safety requirements of CENELEC equipment codes ia, ib and ic, allowing use in explosion zones 0, 1 and 2 , zones 1 and 2, or zone 2 respectively.
LED Light workshops attract leading lights

NFC chips simplify tag design
RS Components is looking to make Near Field Communication (NFC) applications easier to design and more accessible by introducing the Panasonic NFC tag platform, which comprises a versatile set of NFC ICs and easy-to-use development tools. The NFC chips simplify tag design by integrating RF, signal-conditioning and host interface circuitry, as well as non-volatile 4Kbit FeRAM memory, in a compact surface-mount package.
Air duster cleans with zero greenhouse gas emissions
RS Components has sealed an exclusive agreement with Electrolube to supply Airduster Zero, a completely safe and environmentally friendly active-carbon based air duster. The newly launched Airduster Zero is ideal for assembly, installation or maintenance tasks, safely removing dust and airborne contamination from delicate items or equipment susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Six times faster Raspberry Pi2 steps on the gas
The next-generation Raspberry Pi 2 credit-card-sized single-board computer from the Raspberry Pi Foundation is now on sale at RS Components. It incorporates the Broadcom BCM2836 application processor, containing a powerful ARM Cortex-A7 quad-core CPU running at 800MHz, and making the Raspberry Pi 2 more than six times more powerful than the first generation Raspberry Pi Model B+.

The latest rapid protoyping 3D printer added to the RS Components portfolio is the production-quality micro-SLA ProJet 1200 from 3D Systems.
