Molex has introduced the TermiMate one-circuit terminal-style connector system. Designed to minimise the shadowing effect in LED lights and TV backlighting applications, the ultra-low profile TermiMate coplanar board-to-board and wire-to-board connector reduces component and assembly costs for manufacturers.

Molex has announced the acquisition of ProTek Medical by Molex Ireland. ProTek Medical specialises in supplying custom solutions for medical device manufacturers in the global medical industry.

Designed for factory automation and industrial lighting applications, the Brad Micro-Push M12 connectors have been introduced by Molex. Featuring an innovative push-on mating interface, the connectors reduce installation time up to 80% compared to screw-style connectors and facilitate simple blind-mate connections in tight locations.

Molex has announced the acquisition of certain assets of Soligie. Soligie specialises in printed and flexible electronic solutions for applications in medical, military, industrial, lighting and consumer goods. Products range from sensor systems, medical wearables, LED lighting, specialised RFID labels and devices that enable the IoT.

Molex has introduced High-Speed Low-Loss Flex Circuit Assemblies, developed using DuPont Pyralux TK flexible circuit material. The assemblies are suitable for electronic data transmission applications such as servers and high-end computing, storage servers and signal processing.

There is growing use of electronics in aircraft cabins to fulfil passengers’ needs for using their personal electronic equipment, as well as having access to inflight entertainment, passenger comfort systems, such as lighting, HVAC and safety and automatic seat adjustment. All of these amenities create a diversity of challenges for OEMs, when it comes to equipping aircraft interiors with modern electronic and electrical systems.

An enclosure system, designed to simplify complex fibre optic mapping issues, has been introduced by Molex. The OptoConnect system uses integrated FlexPlane circuitry to provide a complete end-to-end optical management system for high density telecomms and datacomms equipment used in communication systems for aerospace and defence networks.

Molex's EON compliant pin technology provides a better alternative to wave soldering processes in power and signal PCB assembly for automotive electrical and electronic systems. Molex recently launched its Polymicro Technologies optical fibre bundle assemblies. This provides industry-leading precise internal diameter tolerances for 'unparalleled' gas and fluidic flow control in medical, scientific and industrial applications.

A range of non-magnetic RF contacts and modules, designed to align with the connector types and performance requirements of MRI equipment manufacturers, have been introduced by Molex. According to the company, the MediSpec non-magnetic RF contacts and modules are offered at a more affordable price point than non-magnetic versions.

Expanding its EXTreme Guardian Power Connector system, Molex announces the addition of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 circuit harness connector components. The new components include non-overmoulded latching cable receptacle housings, terminal position assurance clips and latchable vertical and right angle headers providing power supply manufactures with more options when designing.

  Molex has announced that its Mini50 connectors have been instrumental in setting the performance guidelines being established for Single Twisted Pair Ethernet (IEEE P802.3bw 100BASE-T1), slated to be launched in 2015 by automotive OEMs.

A Canadian designer and manufacturer of RF/microwave solutions for the wireless communications industry, SDP Telecom, has been acquired by Molex.

To address the demand for reliable optical connectivity in defence applications, Molex has released the VersaBeam MT interconnects. The interconnects deliver outstanding optical data performance in high density fibre applications where Expanded Beam (EB) solutions would prove an advantage. 

Suited for high-current applications requiring flexible wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations, the Super Sabre Power Connector System has been introduced by Molex. The power connectors can deliver 34.0A per blade at operating temperatures of up to +125°C, making them suitable for automotive, appliance, medical, datacomms and industrial control applications.
