Industrial computing and networking specialists Amplicon have launched a new online video initiative to assist customers with the configuration and commissioning of Amplicon’s most complex products and technologies. The video scheme is designed to dramatically shorten the learning curve for new products and provide a helping hand, potentially saving engineers many hours of frustration.

To reflect the global reach of Amplicon, the Brighton based Industrial computer manufacturer and distributor is changing its URL to Amplicon.com. Customers will be automatically redirected to the new site from the .co.uk URL and will not see any difference in performance or navigation when they arrive at the new .com site.

The new ioLogik W5340 Active Ethernet I/O module uses quad band GPRS for communication over the mobile telephone network from anywhere in the world. It can monitor both analogue and digital signals from instruments and switches, whilst control is provided by relays or digital outputs. Industrial networking specialists Amplicon have partnered with SIM card provider Vianet to provide an end to end service for evaluating and developing 3G, HSDPA and HSUPA communication systems. The company has invested in demo stock of a wide range of GPRS & 3G routers and now provides a free evaluation service to customers with qualified projects.

Amplicon Managing Director, Tony Gorbold, has sold his share holding in the company to Gina Citroni, the current Commercial Director and other shareholder of the business.
