New boss at Amplicon

Amplicon Managing Director, Tony Gorbold, has sold his share holding in the company to Gina Citroni, the current Commercial Director and other shareholder of the business. The deal was completed on 30 April 2009. Gorbold who started his career with Amplicon in 1974, some 35 years ago, was instrumental in Amplicon’s early growth and success.

During his time in the company he has worked in most areas of the business and in his final years has overseen the accounts department, and controlled the facilities and IT, dealing with the day to day management of these areas he has seen the company has grow from 4 to 40 staff, and a turnover of some £8 million

Gina Citroni, who now takes total control of the business, joined Amplicon in 2001 as purchasing manager, was quickly promoted to commercial manager in 2002, and promoted to the board as Commercial Director in July 2004. She was part of the original MBO team in March 2005 and is responsible for the dramatic rise of the business from a local enterprise to a world renowned electronic solution provider. Citroni commented, ‘ My pathway to the top hasn’t been easy, but I am looking forward to driving the business forward to our goal of £50 million in turnover during the coming 10 years. I have a young, intelligent and energetic team and I owe them success!’
