As leaders in the Internet Protocol arena, Amplicon is organising a free ‘Focus on IP’ seminar at the Russ Hill Hotel, near Gatwick Airport on Wednesday July 4th. The seminar will give a jargon-free explanation of the whole area of IP, what it is and crucially, what it can offer within a commercial environment.
David Evans, Amplicon’s Data Communications Product Manager will be leading the seminar programme ”The whole ethos of the IP day is to explain it to anyone who is interested in the area but whose background perhaps isn’t steeped in IT. It’s an exciting time for IP applications and what they can deliver and you don’t have to be an IT expert to appreciate or gain from the benefits. ”
A varied programme has been arranged including presentations from a number of industry leaders, and basic Ethernet and TCP/IP topics. Speakers will also provide practical ideas for upgrading existing automation systems as well as the commercial opportunities that IP represents.
The programme will run as follows:

10-10.30 Registration
Introduction to Ethernet and TCP/IP
The ‘IP video’ revolution
Wireless IP Connectivity with GPRS and 3G
13.00-14.0 Lunch
IP in Industrial Automation
Everything over IP
Question and Answer/ seminar end at 16.00

Attendance at the seminar is completely free and open to all, but pre-registration at http://www.amplicon.co.uk/ipfocus/ is essential.
